Akela Award
The Akela Award is earned by a Boy Scout who has completed extra requirements as a Cub Scout, and who has attended three camping trips and earned the Tenderfoot rank within the first six months after becoming a Boy Scout (see the application for details).
 
Arrow of Light Award
The Arrow of Light Award is earned by a Webelos Scout before joining Boy Scouts. The Arrow of Light patch is worn below the bottom point of the left pocket on the Boy Scout Uniform. Requirements

Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts is an entirely different Scouting program for boys in the elementary school grades. Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos are all part of a Cub Scout Pack.
 
 

Den
A Den (like a wolf den) is a group of 6-10 Cub Scouts in a Cub Scout Pack.

Order of the Arrow
Order of the Arrow is a Native American themed honor camping and service organization that is a program feature of the Boy Scouts of America. Elections to OA occur twice annually within the Troop. Eligibility is based upon reaching First Class rank and completing fifteen nights of camping.

Pack
A Pack is a group of Cub Scouts made up of one or more dens.
 
Patrol
A patrol is a group of 6-10 boys in a Boy Scout Troop.

Patrol Leaders' Council
The Patrol Leader's Council (PLC) meets monthly with the Scoutmaster to plan the activities of the Troop. The PLC is comprised of the Senior Patrol Leader, Asst. Senior Patrol Leader, each of the Patrol Leaders, and the Troop Guide.
 
PLC is also known as "Green Bar" which refers to Scouts holding leadership positions in the Troop. This expression is derived from the "green bars" on the leadership insignia (SPL: 3 bars, ASPL: 2-1/2 bars, Troop Guide: 2 bars, PL: 2 bars, APL: 1 bar).

Religious Awards
Religious awards are earned through a Scout's religious institution. Medals and knot patches are awarded. The medal may be worn on ceremonial occasions and is pinned to the seam of the top flap of the the left pocket in similar fashion to an Eagle Scout medal. The knot is worn touching the seam of the top flap of the left pocket.

Troop
A Troop is a group of Boy Scouts made up of one or more patrols.
 
Troop Committee
The Troop Committee is the governing board of the Troop.

Webelos
Webelos (WE'll BE LOyal Scouts) are 4th and 5th grade boys in a Cub Scout Pack who participate in more advanced activities that begin to prepare them to become Boy Scouts.
